J9 Photography is MOVING!!!

Much has happened in the last few months.  I’ve been rather quiet on the topic, as I felt I needed to wait upon the Lord’s timing to announce things further.  In the beginning of the year, my husband was approached by a gentleman he had worked with years ago…and is now the CEO of a company in Virginia called Trex Company.  At first, I was absolutely sure this was NOT God’s will.  How could it be when that would require us to pick up our family, my business and leave everything and everyone we loved here in Georgia?  Then I decided to pray about it.  WARNING…when you decide to let God have His way, it may NOT be your own way, LOL!

Over time, He changed my heart and has clearly spoken to us about this move.  Kirby is now in Virginia working for Trex, while I stayed behind to get the kids through the end of the school year, sell the house, and wrap up some other family loose ends we have.  God is good and our house sold the 2nd day it was on the market for almost full asking price.  Yes, you heard that right.  A good friend of mine said she knew God would take care of things, but that God was just showing off by that one :).  I agree!

Kirby has been flying back and forth between the two States and we’re working on many details.  The house closes the end of July and the girls and I will be moving in with some dear friends of ours here for a while…until we can get the “loose ends” I mentioned before all tied up.  Our children are aware we are moving, but we are trying to be sensitive to their needs and have not discussed with them where we are moving.  We will when the time draws closer.

Please keep our family in your prayers during this time of transition.  God is the head of our family, and we are excited to be following His direction!

Thank you all for your wonderful support.  I LOVE what I do, and will continue to do it (with God’s leading, of course) in Virginia.  To thank you for the blessing of being your photographer over the last several years, I am announcing a HUGE sale beginning July 1st.  40% off current pricing on all reorders (meaning…ordering from a prior session).  This will help me in cleaning out the archives before our move.

You can always contact me at j9photography@bellsouth.net and after I get more information on where we will be settled, I will let you know an address and phone number as well.  Again, thank you for the wonderful opportunity you have given me to allow me into your precious family’s lives.  It has been an absolute HONOR!!!

Many blessings and prayers for you!

Jeannine Miner

And then there were 3…

These two little girls were so loving toward their new baby brother (and to each other…wish that would rub off on my kids!).  This is definitely a modern-day family.  Dad is a stay at home dad and mom is an executive at a large communications company.  What is so neat is to see how amazingly awesome these children are!  Guess you can’t tell how impressed I was, can you?  LOL!

On another note, I’m sorry I haven’t been good at keeping up with the blog lately.  End of year school, softball tourneys, and general life has been insane.  I’ll try to catch up, as I have so many wonderful portraits to share with you.

Adoption…what a blessing!

First off, let me admit I’ve been just awful about blogging lately.  PLEASE forgive me!!!  You all have been fantastic about getting entries into me for the location contest.  Keep ‘em coming!

I’m so pleased to introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. “M” and little “E”.  This family took many years to become the family they are.  God placed little “E” in their home and it’s just so awesome to see the abundant love that flows through them to this child.  It has been such an amazing experience that they are working on trying to adopt another baby.  Please pray for just the right baby, at just the right time for them.

Have I mentioned lately how blessed I am with my job?  Thank you, thank you, thank you for the honor of capturing these moments with you and your families!

Liv is almost 3!

Her birthday is Easter weekend, so we’re celebrating this coming weekend with our family.  I can’t believe she’s 3!  How did that happen?  You all know…time flies (as we get older, LOL!).  I thought it was time for a formal portrait sitting with the littlest Miner.  See, even I have a hard time deciding which portrait I liked the best, so I thought I’d show you my top 3.

You’ll also notice a brand new hand-painted, canvas backdrop I’m using.  I have had the honor of meeting Julia Russo.  She is a Master Photographer who has retired and recently opened an AWESOME boutique called Stork and Veil here in Alpharetta.  I bought this backdrop from her and am LOVING it!  It’s like spring, inside!

Contest - Location, Location, Location

How many times have we heard that in our lives?  It IS all about the location afterall.

With Spring just about upon us (although with today’s weather, I’m beginning to wonder!)…it’s time to start thinking of those lovely outdoor portraits.  You guys have the most wonderful ideas of where to do shoots.  So, I thought, why not hold a contest to come up with some fantastic locations for outdoor shoots?

Here’s the rules:

  1. The location has to be some place new I’ve never shot at before (which, unfortunately, I’m the only one who knows that one).
  2. The location must be “free” to photograph at (for example: the Botanical Gardens are fantastic, but they charge a hefty fee - $150 per shoot).
  3. I’d really like to find some awesome Alpharetta - Roswell locations.  Those within Alpharetta and Roswell will receive 2 entrys for the hat!
  4. Contest ends March 31, 2008
  5. Every entry participant will be put into a hat and on April 1st, I will draw a winner.
  6. Winner will receive one weekend session!
  7. Send all your entries to j9photography@bellsouth.net

I can’t wait to see the awesome ideas you come up with.  When thinking of these locations…make sure it would be a place YOU would want your family portraits done.  That helps you to qualify the location better.

On another note…don’t forget to “Spring forward” tonight!

Gorgeous Family!

Forgive me for not keeping up with the blog the last week or so.  The site has been down for “renovations” and hopefully…we’ll have a brand-spanking new site up tomorrow!!!

I’ll just jump right back in and show you a few from a wonderful family I worked with this past weekend.  You will notice the two kids are exact replicas of their parents.  Unbelieveable, isn’t it?  These children were sooooooo good to work with.  Not a single complaint about ANYTHING…and enjoyed just playing around with me.  One of my favorite things to do with families is to capture them all “squished together” in some way.  Capturing the close bond a family has.  It’s so awesome to see how much these kids love their parents.  Mom and Dad…you’re doing it right!  Hope some of that will rub off on me for my kids.

Another awesome addition…

Portrait Jewelry!  Just in time for Mother’s Day…these lovely charms are a fantastic addition to the bracelet Mom will cherish forever.  In order to have them back for Mother’s Day gifts, orders must be placed by mid-March.  Other pieces will be added to my collection after Mother’s Day.

Announcing…new things at J9 Photography!

Lots to tell you about!  First of all, due to popular request, we now have a “Grow With Me Collection”.  This $300 Collection includes a beautiful memory box that you will fill with fantastic 5×7 matted portraits from each session to watch the amazing changes that happen in your cutie’s life throughout their childhood.  Besides the memory box, you also receive one complimentary matted 5×7 per session, as well as a 10% discount on all session fees until age 12.

Also by popular demand…framing has finally arrived at J9 Photography.  I have combed the United States to find JUST the right framer who has excellent quality work, quick turn around time, and doesn’t cost an arm, leg and your youngest child!  Framing is available as an add-on right now for your portraits.  However, by this summer, all Wall Portraits purchased in a Collection and all Storyboards will come framed, catering to your unique tastes!  You will notice this change in the pricing guide by this summer.

I think everybody is beginning to catch early Spring fever…I only have a few weekend sessions available through May.  Availability for weekday sessions is slightly better.  And, believe it or not…Fall is already starting to book up!  So, if you’re thinking of doing a fall family portrait, reserve your space today so you get the date you need.

As always, thank you for allowing me to share in my passion with you.  It truely is a blessing!

She’s a fighter…

Mr. & Mrs. “T” have quite a sweetheart on their hands…but it came with a fight.  Mrs. “T’s” pregnancy was a difficult one with a ton of bedrest towards the end.  Their sweet daughter decided she just couldn’t wait and came a month early…only to be in the NICU for almost the first full week of life.  She’s home now with a few monitors to keep everyone assured she will be safe and secure.

She’s the most calm baby I think I’ve ever met and slept through most of our session like an angel.  You can see the complete adoration and happiness in her parent’s eyes.  Watching Mrs. “T” look at little Miss “C” completely melted my heart…just knowing how hard everyone had to work for this little miracle girl.  Thank you for allowing me to share in such an amazing time in your lives!

I’m an AUNT!

I have the absolute pleasure of introducing you to the newest member of our family…Remington.  Isn’t she adorable?  It’s still hard to believe my “baby” brother is a dad.  I never doubted he would be a fantastic father.  He’s nothing but a huge teddy bear with children (even if he tells you otherwise).  “Remy” is the apple of her Mommy and Daddy’s eyes.

My parents are bursting with pride, as is everyone on both sides of the family.  She will be one of my favorite subjects to photograph throughout the years, so I thought I had better introduce you to her while she was yet just a little peanut.

Happy Birthday my sweet niece and many blessing upon you!
